It was founded as a professional association for humanitarian aid and development cooperation within the framework of the national development policies and guidelines in order to professionalize our decade-long engagement in development cooperation and its commitment to humanitarian aid.
Victas Foundation is committed to work towards the betterment of socially and economically marginalized sections of society such as women, children, youth, the rural population, ethnic minorities and indigenous people, refugees and displaced people. It aims at providing access to adequate income and social security for these sections and at enabling them to initiate development process on their own and to take ownership of their development capacities. It therefore supports collaborative development projects which are engaged in improving the livelihood and promoting the empowerment of these sections. In addition, Victas Foundation extends aid to those affected by humanitarian crises.
We are proud part of a global family, working relentlessly on the sustainable growth and development programs initiated by united Nations and many of its specialized agencies. The origin of Victas lies in the endeavour of outreaching to the underserved people around the world and salvaging lives of disadvantaged that have no other last resort. We believe that we are not alone in our sincere effort towards shaping a better planet today and tomorrow.
At present, there are thousands of existing problems that are directly or indirectly affecting lives of millions of people around us. The problem of global warming and its adverse affects are quite obvious. Prevalent air and water pollution caused by various reasons including industrial waste disposition, car and industry smoke is taking a toll on the people’s lives. To help fellow citizens find a better life on earth, Victas Foundation is constantly striving with the active cooperation from benign people and
non profit organization from all across the world.
Education is next most important necessity of the time. Because of illiteracy and proper guidance, more and more people are falling prey to incurable diseases. Most importantly, because of their unawareness, they are not being able to earn their livelihood, avail the basic commodities and raise their voice against all the injustice to them. The trivial section of people is constantly struggling to come to the mainstream, take part in the natural flow of life. But lots of these reasons are thwarting their journey to light midway.
But no such initiative can be adequate to the present situation of the world without the active participation of the laypeople. They are to come forward and build their own future, learn and teach their fellow citizens. In short, every human being can be a molecular part of the change that he or she wants to see around him. That is why we support and promote self help groups, ally with several NGO/ government and non-government organisations/ Self-Help Groups to ensure active involvement of the fellow citizens, to help them come up as positive catalyst of the radical change.
We believe every human being feels and commiserates the distress of the people around the world. And this belief inspired us to form this foundation with the positive patronage of good hearts around the world. We are no doubt that this small initiative taken by us to change the world into a better place will surely earn espousal from all corners of the global society and we will surely build a better planet every today tomorrow.
